Eloi, French key-actor in cutlery and goldsmith's ware since 1920
In Haute-Marne (French region Champagne-Ardennes), in the XIXth century, the Nogent area became the headquarters of cutlery activities.
In the 1880's, over 6000 people used to manufacture: knives, surgery instruments, nail nippers and hand-tools. Each municipality had its own speciality. Biesles, situated 10 km far from Nogent, became the centre for the elaboration of luxury articles: folding knives and cigar-cutters.
Charles Louis Eloi Pernet belonged to the third generation of cutlers in Biesles. He started his apprenticeship in 1901, as he was 12 years old. He founded his own company in 1920: ELOI, reminding the Patron Saint for goldsmiths and blacksmiths.
In 1925 Charles Louis Eloi Pernet gained the award for being the Best French Worker, as well as the Order of Academic Palms.
Charles Louis Eloi Pernet built then relationships with very famous companies such as Hermès, Dupont, Vuitton and Dunhill. In 1937 he obtained miscellaneous national and international awards for his creations, such as the Universal Exhibitions Prize. In 1959, he also obtained the Gold Medal for the French Quality Label. He died in 1963 leaving a unique image of quality and luxury.
In the 1990's, ELOI PERNET diversified its activities and turned to the medical sector, proposing a large range of medical instruments dedicated to the healthcare professionals.
Since 1994, our products are now directly sold to hospitals as well as to podiatrists through professional congresses and a commercial task-force all over the French territory.
In cooperation with professionals ELOI PERNET develops many products and files patents (ergonomic nippers: AKORI, nippers with conic rivet…), which underlines the innovation and creation ability of the company.
In 2000 ELOI PERNET was certified ISO 9001, ISO 13488 and EN46002 (Manufacturing, sub-contracting and repairing of surgical and podiatry instruments).
ELOI PERNET keeps on manufacturing luxury articles of very high quality in Nogent. Thanks to a qualified task-force and the use of the most high-grade materials ELOI could preserve precision, elegance and quality; this enables the company to stand out for so many years and to build its fame amongst the most renowned names.
ELOI PERNET was acquired by Mr Rudolf MOURADIAN in 2010. He is willing to perpetuate the ELOI image throughout new ideas: development of new ranges in the medical area, partnership with the body DISTRI CLUB MEDICAL, store opening and training site in Saint-Denis in 2011.
Nowadays the activity fields are:
- PODIATRY: instruments, consumables, micro-motors and burs, hygiene and sterilisation products directly sold to podiatrists
- MEDICAL: a large range of instruments and consumables dedicated to medical and para-medical professionals
- BEAUTY: with the products ranges PRESTIGE, CUTTY
- LUXURY: cigar-cutters, manicure sets, presents.
